Position Overview
Experience
Two (2) years’ previous experience in a supervisory position, preferably in a health care setting.
Three (3) years’ previous experience in client registration services.

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)
Completion of a recognized Medical Office Assistant Program.
Diploma in Health Information Management an asset.
Other suitable combinations of education and experience may be considered.

Certification/Licensure/Registration
Health Information Certified Associate (HICA) preferred.

Qualifications and Skills
Knowledge and experience with computerized Admission, Discharge, Transfer (ADT) applications.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications, Outlook/Email.
Knowledge of provincial legislation including but not limited to privacy.
Knowledge of labor laws and Collective Agreements.
Demonstrated ability to lead, mentor and support departmental staff.
Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in complex situations and effectively manage rapidly changing situations.

Good work and attendance record.
Requires a valid Class 5 driver’s license, an all-purpose insured vehicle and liability insurance of at least $1,000,000.

Physical Requirements
Demonstrated ability to meet the physical and mental demands of the job.
May receive calls after hours.
No hazardous or significantly unpleasant conditions.
May work occasionally evenings and weekends as necessary.
Will be required to travel to other regional facilities as the position duties may require.
