Position: Indigenous Health Coordinator Role at Northern Health
Location: Northern British Columbia (Fort Nelson)

Become an integral part of the healthcare team as an Indigenous Care Coordinator at Northern Health in Fort St. John. This role is dedicated to promoting culturally safe practices for Indigenous patients.

Your responsibilities will include creating and monitoring Indigenous care plans while engaging with various health services to ensure effective support for Indigenous patients throughout their care journey. Collaborating closely with community services will be essential to enhancing and coordinating care that reflects the cultural needs of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis individuals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop individualized care plans for Indigenous patients

• Coordinate with First Nations and Métis health services

• Educate healthcare teams about Indigenous wellness traditions

• Conduct thorough client assessments and plan interventions

• Build partnerships for culturally safe patient care

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field with healthcare experience

• Demonstrated understanding of Indigenous cultures and healthcare needs

• Preference for Indigenous candidates with lived experience

• Effective communication and teamwork capabilities

• Ability to foster cultural safety in health practices
