Senior Care Recreation Therapy Aide

Bring recreation programming experience to Good Samaritan’s seniors’ care community in Pincher Creek, Alberta. Support residents with cognitive impairments through individualized therapeutic activities.

This Therapy Aide role provides assistance to geriatric and disabled populations in a long-term care or community care setting. You will facilitate recreation programs aligned with residents’ individual goals and approved practice. The position also includes volunteer supervision, cross-functional collaboration, and multidisciplinary teamwork.

• Provide therapy aide assistance to geriatric residents
• Facilitate programs supporting individual resident goals
• Implement recreational activities safely and effectively
• Support and supervise volunteers during programming
• Collaborate across functions and disciplines

• Experience with geriatric and disabled populations
• Experience supporting cognitive impairments in care settings
• Post-secondary therapeutic recreation coursework preferred
• Excellent time management, detail, and problem-solving abilities
• Clear criminal records and tuberculosis screening requirements
