Casual Occupational Therapist West Bedford

Location: Halifax Bedford Basin

Apply occupational therapy expertise at West Bedford Transitional Health, supporting safe transitions from hospital to home through evidence-based care. This is a casual position.
As an Occupational Therapist, you will work within Shannex’s allied health team to support patient and family goals. The work includes assessment, intervention, evaluation, follow-up, communication, and shared decision-making. You will collaborate with caregivers and interdisciplinary healthcare professionals while supporting function in self-care, productivity, and leisure.

Key Responsibilities:

Prioritize and manage an occupational therapy caseload
Assess function using standardized and non-standardized evaluations
Design adaptive equipment, utensils, splints, and orthotic devices
Coordinate equipment service and maintenance with suppliers
Prepare progress, funding, statistical, and treatment records
Requirements:
Bachelor or Master of Science in Occupational Therapy
Current registration with the provincial occupational therapists association
Minimum one year of clinical experience
Valid CPR and Emergency First Aid certification
Knowledge of anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, and adaptive equipment
Bring clinical assessment, adaptive equipment, and collaborative care skills to help patients transition safely toward home and community living.
