On-Call Firefighter Class G

Position: Paid On-Call Firefighter Class G
Location: Leeds

Serve as a Paid On-Call Firefighter with The Township of Leeds and the Thousand Islands, meeting Class G licensing requirements. Live near one of four stations and respond when needed.
The Township recruits paid on-call firefighters on an ongoing basis. Recruits complete a minimum 12-month probation and must become NFPA 1001 certified within 36 months. The position requires annual training and emergency-call participation.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete minimum 12-month probationary period
Attend at least 60% of annual training
Attend at least 25% of annual emergency calls
Become NFPA 1001 certified within 36 months
Requirements:
Ontario high school diploma or equivalent
Age 18 or older
Valid unrestricted Ontario Class G licence
Obtain Class DZ licence within one year
Satisfactory checks, abstract, medical certificate, and station proximity
Bring the required licensing, availability, and certification commitment to paid on-call firefighting across Leeds and the Thousand Islands.
