The Strathcona Hotel, in the heart of beautiful Victoria British Columbia is looking to hire a reliable, mature and energetic individual to join our Front Desk team.
Our ideal candidate enjoys working with others and thrives to deliver a positive and pleasant experience to our guests. You must be dependable, organized and enjoy both clerical duties and customer relations.
Previous accounting experience is not mandatory.
Shift hours: 11:30pm to 7:30am
Availability is required for:
Thursday, Friday, Saturday, and Sunday nights - flexibility is a requisite
Duties and Responsibilities included but not limited to:
- Check-in late night arrivals
- Check-out early morning departures
- Create new reservations for walk in guests, and create, modify, and cancel reservations for future stays
- Answer telephone enquiries about the hotel and attached venues
- Assist guests in house with requests and concerns
- Work with the Security team to ensure the comfort of hotel guests, and ensure quiet time and occupancy policies are adhered to
- Assist team members with cashing out, and signing in/out keys

Passion for guest service* Excellent interpersonal and time management skills
* Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral
* Must be a team oriented & motivated individual
* Highly organized, results-oriented with the ability to be flexible and work well under pressure
* Knowledge of Word, Excel and Property Management Systems
* Cash handling and processing experience
* Knowledge of Victoria and surrounding area and attractions
* Night audit experience an asset
