Location: Calgary Northeast
Description
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking an Infrastructure Delivery Install Technician to join our infrastructure operations team. The technician will install, test, and troubleshoot servers, network equipment, fiber and copper cabling, structured cabling, and manage infrastructure inventory and data center service vendors. The role requires reporting to a site location.
This position requires the successful candidate to obtain and maintain an active Reliability Status security clearance with the Canadian government.
Key Responsibilities
Install, test, and troubleshoot fiber optic and copper cabling, including patch panels and cords.
Move enterprise equipment from loading docks.
Manage priorities and work through ticketing systems to complete customer requests and projects.
Maintain accurate records, status reports, and documentation of problems and processes.
Ensure site cleanliness and quality workmanship on all work.
Coordinate delivery of materials to the site daily.
Comply with all installation practices for data center installations.
Assist in launching edge server technologies and solving networking impairments.
Carry a pager or cell phone for communication and emergencies.
Day in the Life
This role involves detailed reporting via ticketing system, status updates, and email; documenting problems; managing materials; maintaining site cleanliness; and ensuring installation compliance.
Qualifications
Basic
Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment, and troubleshooting methodologies.
High school diploma or equivalent.
1+ year(s) of experience in data center, critical environment, computer hardware repair, infrastructure cabling, network deployment, or data center operations.
Preferred
Experience in data center environments.
Relevant certifications such as CompTIA A+, CompTIA Network+, Cisco/CCNA, Linux (Red Hat), Microsoft hardware (installation), or AWS certifications.
Experience troubleshooting networks (e.g., TCP/IP, DNS, routing, switching, firewalls, LAN/WAN, trace route, iperf, dig, cURL).
Knowledge of network cabling, optic types, and test equipment.
Experience managing medium to large-scale projects.
Experience with Linux OS and network troubleshooting, debugging technical systems.
Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair.
