Systems Technician

You will report directly to the Chief Information Officer and will be responsible for providing day to day technology support for users and IT systems of the credit union and its subsidiaries. As part of the Technology team, you are involved in all support for computer systems, including implementing, maintaining, troubleshooting problems related to computer hardware, software, switches, virtual environments and other networking equipment.

You are responsible for coordinating the testing and installation of changes and upgrades, and liaising with contractors and suppliers to resolve problems and to install upgrades or enhancements. You are responsible for ensuring that systems and support documentation is created and updated as necessary for all technology systems. You support the creation of an Enhanced Service Commitment by efficiently providing technical support to the credit union and its subsidiaries, working as a member of the team, and setting a personal example of service and professionalism.

The successful candidate will hold relevant certifications and/or 3-6 years related work experience in the field of information technology, preferably in a financial institution or credit union. The individual should have Windows systems management experience, including TCP/IP networking with its components. The individual should exhibit a demonstrable knowledge of systems administrative tasks, including trouble shooting skills over a multi-branch, virtualized WAN/LAN environment.

A combination of education and work experience deemed appropriate to handle the assigned duties may also be considered.

As this position involves travel to all branches of the Bulkley Valley Credit Union, a valid BC Driver’s License with an available vehicle for use is required.
