Be a catalyst for positive change as a Veterans SOAR Claims Specialist with the Minnesota Department of Veterans Affairs in St. Paul. This full-time position combines telework and in-person work to support veterans effectively.
In this role, you will interact with veterans to guide them through claims processes and advocate on their behalf. Your two years of relevant experience will enable you to investigate, approve, and document essential veteran benefits and claims accurately.
Key Responsibilities:
• Conduct claimant interviews to assess benefits eligibility
• Investigate claims and recommend approvals
• Document claims decisions in compliance with guidelines
• Present case findings at hearings and conferences
• Offer technical assistance for claim processes
Requirements:
• Two years’ experience in veterans/military benefits
• 50% travel commitment is necessary
• Must live in Minnesota and be a U.S. citizen
• Veteran status required under specific state definitions
• Experience in case management or SSA regulations preferred
