Position: Educational Interpreter for Deaf Students
Location: Stockton

Join Stockton Unified School District as an Educational Interpreter, specializing in support for deaf and hard of hearing students. Deliver high-quality interpreting services across multiple educational contexts.

This itinerant role involves collaborating with special education staff to provide accurate and impartial interpreting services. Your job will include interpreting during IEP meetings and offering academic support in classrooms, ensuring students comprehend their lessons fully. You’ll also work to enhance social interactions and language skills for all students.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret assigned lessons for D/HH students in various environments

• Assist with data collection and reporting on student progress

• Facilitate effective communication between deaf students and teachers

• Consult with staff on student support strategies

• Promote understanding of assistive technologies as necessary

Requirements:

• Two years of college education or Associate degree

• Interpretation certification from CDE

• At least two years of interpreting for deaf students

• Familiarity with a variety of sign languages

• Ability to work effectively in diverse environments
