Position: Webb ES Certified Interpreter Needed

Join WEBB ES as a Certified Interpreter for the Regional Day School Program for the Deaf. This role focuses on facilitating communication for deaf and hard-of-hearing students in various academic settings.

As a Certified Interpreter, you will interpret for both students and staff, ensuring effective communication during classes and meetings. Candidates must have an associate degree and certification from BEI or RID. Responsibilities include mentoring latest interpreters and maintaining professional standards. Strong communication skills in Signed English and American Sign Language are essential for success.

Key Responsibilities:

• Interpret for students and staff in multiple settings

• Mentor newly hired interpreters for development

• Provide direct instruction in limited circumstances

• Prepare for assignments through study of subject materials

• Complete professional development activities as approved

Requirements:

• Associate degree or 60 credit hours necessary

• Certification from BEI or RID Level 1 or higher

• Relevant experience in educational interpreting

• Strong written and verbal communication skills

• Independent work ethic and reliable attendance
