Position: Real Estate Legal Assistant (Selkirk, MB)
Location: Selkirk

PKF Lawyers is seeking a full-time Real Estate Legal Assistant to join our dynamic team. As “Manitoba’s Law Firm,” our culture is built on professional excellence, collaboration, and a strong sense of pride in the services we offer.

The Real Estate Legal Assistant will provide comprehensive administrative and legal support to our firm’s Real Estate practice group. This role is crucial in managing the workflow for residential property transactions, ensuring files are meticulously prepared, organized, and closed in compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills, a strong understanding of the real estate closing process, and proficiency with relevant industry software.

Responsibilities
  • Open new client files, conduct necessary initial searches (title, tax, etc.), manage filing, and maintain the integrity of physical and electronic files throughout the life cycle of the transaction
  • Preparation of documents relating to offers to purchase and mortgage instructions
  • Draft, review, and prepare standard real estate documentation, including Agreements of Purchase and Sale, Transfers, Mortgages, Statements of Adjustment, and closing letters.
  • Registration of documents through Teranet
  • Coordinating appointments for clients & lawyers
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with clients, bankers, and other parties integral to the completion of the transactions.
  • Performing any other tasks or duties as may be assigned or required
Skills and Qualifications
  • Graduate of a recognized legal administrative program
  • Minimum 3 years experience with real estate transactions
  • Ability to prioritize, multitask and take instructions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and organization skills
  • Courteous and professional
