Buyer at Highland Valley Copper

Location: Cariboo and West Okanagan (100 Mile House)

Become a vital part of the Highland Valley Copper team in Logan Lake, BC, as a Buyer. This full-time role emphasizes efficient procurement, vendor relations, and timely acquisition of materials.

Reporting directly to the Purchasing General Supervisor, this Buyer position requires expertise in supply chain management and purchasing processes. Responsibilities include creating purchase orders, maintaining inventory levels, and evaluating bids for sourcing materials and services. You’ll also play a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies while building strong supplier relationships.

Key Responsibilities:

• Create and manage purchase orders in ERP system

• Maintain optimal inventory levels avoiding shortages

• Evaluate bids and prepare costing sheets for materials

• Review invoices for accuracy with Accounts Payable

• Support Supply Chain Management optimization initiatives

Requirements:

• Minimum 5 years of progressive purchasing experience

• Completion or enrollment in Supply Chain Management program

• Strong skills in Microsoft Office applications

• Experience with contract structures and asset recovery

• Excellent communication and multitasking abilities
