Job Title

Supervisor, Mobile Maintenance

Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Supervision
    • Supervise, mentor, and provide direction to Mobile Maintenance staff.
    • Coordinate daily maintenance activities and prioritize work based on operational needs and safety requirements.
    • Ensure adequate staffing, task allocation, and shift coverage for mobile maintenance operations.
    • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture focused on safety, accountability, and continuous improvement.
  • Maintenance Planning & Execution
    • Oversee the maintenance program for all mobile equipment and light vehicles, ensuring adherence to manufacturer specifications and company standards.
    • Review and approve maintenance schedules, work orders, and repair plans to minimize equipment downtime.
    • Monitor equipment performance and maintenance trends to proactively address potential reliability issues.
    • Support troubleshooting and complex repairs when required.
  • Safety & Compliance
    • Ensure all maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, environmental procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Conduct regular safety meetings, hazard assessments, and site inspections.
    • Promote a strong safety culture and intervene when unsafe practices are observed.
  • Documentation & Reporting
    • Ensure accurate completion of maintenance documentation, including work orders, inspections, and equipment history records.
    • Provide regular updates to the Superintendent, Mobile Maintenance regarding equipment status and team performance.
  • Collaboration & Coordination
    • Work closely with Operations, Reliability, and Planning teams to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
    • Communicate effectively with stakeholders to ensure transparency and operational efficiency.
  • Additional Duties
    • Perform other duties as assigned by the Superintendent, Mobile Maintenance, or management team.
The Ideal Candidate Education / Qualifications
  • Red Seal Heavy Duty Equipment Technician (NOC 72401) or equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary technical training in heavy equipment maintenance is preferred. Supervisory or leadership training is an asset
  • Must possess a valid Class 5 Driver’s Licence
Experience / Skills
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Heavy Duty Equipment Technician, preferably in mining or heavy industrial environments
  • Minimum of 2 years of supervisory or lead-hand experience is preferred
  • Strong leadership and decision-making skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Proven ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical, hydraulic, and electrical issues
  • Familiarity with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) and diagnostic tools
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong commitment to safety and regulatory compliance
  • Ability to work in a remote, outdoor, and physically demanding environment
Work Location & Conditions

This is a site-based camp job at Eskay Creek Mine site. This position involves working at a remote mine site on a 15 days on/13 days off rotation. The Eskay Creek Revitalization Project is located within the Coast Mountains of Northwestern British Columbia and Tahltan Territory. Ground transportation will be provided from local communities to the Eskay Creek Site facilities. For those applicants located elsewhere in western Canada, flight transportation from major urban centers will be provided to the Terrace or Smithers airports, from which shuttles will provide transportation to the Eskay Creek Camp…
