Camp Gencheff is seeking a reliable, compassionate, and hands‑on Part‑Time Maintenance Person to join our team. In addition to performing general maintenance tasks, this role requires someone who is comfortable interacting with clients, staff, and visitors in a respectful and supportive manner. The ideal candidate will have basic maintenance skills, a positive attitude, and an understanding of the importance of maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for people with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Perform general maintenance tasks, including minor repairs.
Ensure the facility remains safe by performing routine services such as changing light bulbs, replacing air filters, and addressing other basic needs.
Assist in maintaining outdoor spaces.
Respond to routine maintenance requests from management in a timely and professional manner.
Support the team by helping to keep hallways, common areas, and individual rooms safe and clean for residents.
Help with the setup or maintenance of equipment and furniture in common areas and activity spaces.
Work closely with management to identify areas that require special attention or repairs, ensuring the environment is accessible and safe for all clients.
Interact with clients in a respectful, friendly, and compassionate manner while carrying out maintenance tasks in shared spaces.
Adhere to all safety guidelines, maintaining a clean and organized work area.
Report any major issues, repairs, or hazards to the management or supervisor.
Qualifications
Basic knowledge and skills in general maintenance tasks.
Experience working with people, especially individuals with disabilities, is preferred, but not required.
Ability to interact with clients and staff in a courteous, respectful, and patient manner.
Strong attention to detail and ability to identify and address maintenance issues as they arise.
Physically able to perform light to moderate lifting, bending, and moving equipment.
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Good communication skills and the ability to follow instructions clearly.
A positive attitude and a willingness to contribute to a supportive, team‑oriented environment.
Flexibility to work a variety of shifts based on the needs of the facility.
Schedule
This is a part‑time position with flexible hours. Typically, around 10–12 hours per week, with some flexibility for evening or weekend shifts depending on the needs of the organization.
Compensation
Hourly wage based on experience starting at $17.00/hr.
