Position: Permanent - Full-time Cleaner  (internal/external)
Location: Northeastern Manitoulin and the Islands

Cleaner
The Sudbury Catholic District School Board, located in Northeastern Ontario and serving approximately 6,900 students across 17 schools, is seeking a Cleaner to join its dedicated team. The position is permanent, full‑time, with a schedule of 8 hours per day (3:00 pm to 11:00 pm, Monday to Friday).

Responsibilities
Under the direction of the Operations Assistant or designate, the Cleaner will perform a variety of custodial duties related to the cleaning of schools and buildings to ensure safe, clean, and healthy conditions for students and staff.

Education / Certification

Secondary (High) School diploma or equivalent

Required Knowledge

Working knowledge of custodial processes, procedures, and cleaning/grounds equipment

Preferred Experience

Minimum 1 year of institutional cleaning experience or equivalent

Skills & Abilities

Basic computer skills, including handling e‑mail

Ability to communicate orally and in writing in English

Ability to comprehend detailed instructions

Strong attention to detail

Self‑starter with minimal supervision

Team‑orientated with a customer‑service focus

Professional and diplomatic communication with a broad range of people

Reliability to attend work on a regular basis

Physical Requirements

Frequent walking, reaching, bending/stooping when wiping surfaces, and pushing/pulling cleaning equipment

Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and, in rare circumstances, up to 75 lbs

Compensation & Benefits
The Cleaner is compensated at a rate of $22.18 per hour and receives a comprehensive benefits package. Successful candidates will also be required to submit an acceptable Police Record Vulnerable Sector Check and a Ministry of Labour Worker Health and Safety Awareness in 4 Steps training completion certificate prior to commencing duties.
