Janitorial Cleaner

About the Role
McCain Foods (Canada) is seeking a Janitorial Cleaner to support facilities in the Florenceville area. Working independently and reporting to the Janitorial Supervisor, this role is responsible for ensuring assigned facilities are clean, safe, well‑maintained, and presentable. The successful candidate will demonstrate a strong commitment to safety, cleanliness, and operational excellence while contributing to a positive workplace environment.

What You’ll Be Doing

Perform daily, weekly, monthly and semi‑annual cleaning activities in assigned facilities.

Clean and disinfect office areas, common spaces, equipment, and furnishings.

Empty trash containers, vacuum, sweep, mop, dust, wipe surfaces and wash designated areas.

Replenish restroom and hand hygiene supplies, including paper towels, toilet paper, soap, and sanitizers.

Clean and maintain refrigerators and other shared‑use appliances.

Complete periodic heavy‑duty cleaning projects, including wall washing and interior/exterior window cleaning where applicable.

Report safety concerns promptly and follow up as required to ensure concerns are addressed.

Maintain inventory levels for cleaning supplies and order additional materials as needed.

Ensure proper storage, handling and usage of cleaning products and hazardous materials.

Operate cleaning equipment safely and complete other related duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need To Be Successful

Minimum high‑school education.

Ability to obtain WHMIS and TDG certifications.

Previous cleaning or janitorial experience is considered an asset.

Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.

Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

Ability to maintain supply inventories and track completed tasks.

Strong commitment to cleanliness, safety and quality standards.

Ability to read product labels, maintain basic records, and communicate through written notes.

Excellent discipline, reliability, and time‑management skills.

Clear criminal background check required prior to employment.

Must be bondable.

Physical Requirements

Ability to crouch, bend, reach and perform repetitive movements.

Ability to push, pull, carry, and lift up to 50 lb.

Comfortable working around cleaning equipment and occasional loud noise.

Ability to climb stairs and use ladders or lifting devices for elevated cleaning tasks.

Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE), including gloves, eye protection and closed‑toe footwear.

About the Team
The Janitorial Cleaner is part of the Facilities team and reports directly to the Janitorial Supervisor. This role works independently while supporting the overall cleanliness, safety and functionality of McCain facilities in the Florenceville area. The position plays an important role in creating a positive and productive environment for employees and visitors.

Compensation Package
Starting  CAD hourly + hourly pay differential for applicable shifts.
