Part Time Janitor at Lookout Housing

Location: Central Island (Chemainus)

Become a key support member at Lookout Housing and Health Society as a part-time Janitor Maintenance Worker. Contribute to cleanliness and maintenance in a collaborative environment.

This role offers permanent part-time hours, reporting directly to the Site Manager. You will perform various janitorial duties such as sweeping, washing, and disinfecting while also managing building maintenance tasks like plumbing and electrical upkeep. Successful candidates must adhere to Lookout’s Code of Ethics and comply with health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Perform sweeping, washing, and waxing of floors

• Manage garbage removal and recycling bin emptying

• Oversee maintenance of building equipment

• Conduct necessary repairs around the premises

• Provide assistance to new staff and oversee volunteers

Requirements:

• Minimum Grade 12 education with two years of experience

• Building Service Worker Diploma is an asset

• Current Occupational First Aid Level 1 Certificate

• Strong communication and organizational skills

• Criminal Record Clearance – Vulnerable Sector
