About the Role
The Township of Oro-Medonte is currently seeking applicants for the position of Contract - Seasonal Parks & Facilities Labourer for the Operations and Community Services Department. Reporting to the Supervisor, Parks & Facilities, the Seasonal Parks & Facilities Labourer shall be responsible for assisting with the day-to-day maintenance of the Township's facilities and parks.
Highlights of key responsibilities include:
Participating in the fall cleanup of parks, playgrounds, and ball diamonds;
Assisting with the set-up of community ice rinks for the winter;
Provide general labour such as set up, take down, maintenance, and repairs as directed;
Assist with the inspection of facilities and parks as required;
Perform other duties as assigned.
What You Bring The ideal candidate must be able to work independently with the ability to lift up to 20 kilograms and climb to heights on a ladder. The candidate must be available to work flexible hours including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays in a variety of environmental conditions. A valid Ontario Class "G" Driver's License and a satisfactory Driver's Abstract and Vulnerable Sector Screening are also required for this role.
What WeOffer This bargaining unit contract position offers a salary commensurate with experience and education (2026 wage schedule range of $ per hour). The duration of this contract will be approximately 4 months, from September to December.
