SUMMARY: The Maintenance Lead reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Social Services Executive Administrator.
The Social Services Maintenance Lead is responsible for supervising the Maintenance Team who manage the cleaning and general maintenance of the buildings, equipment, grounds and facilities under the umbrella of the Social Services Administration Department.
The position requires full-time hours from 8 am to 4:30 pm or flexible as required to meet seasonal demands and staff coverage.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:
- Community College Diploma in a skilled trade such as carpentry, HVAC, maintenance or building and grounds field with 2 years maintenance/custodial experience or Grade 12 Secondary School Education or GED with 5 years maintenance/custodial experience;
- Computer skills: experience spreadsheet and word programs.
- Must have a valid class G Ontario driver’s license with access to a reliable vehicle.
- Must pass a criminal record check.
- Certification in Health and Safety, WHMIS and heights training considered an asset.
- Knowledge of security and fire alarm systems an asset.
- Problem-solving and critical thinking are key in this line of work to diagnose issues and develop effective solutions.
- Basic understanding and skill in small engine repair, vehicle repair, electrical, painting, carpentry and plumbing.
- Expertise in a variety of systems, equipment and tools to effectively complete some of the more complex projects.
- Up to date immunization is required

REPORTING RELATIONSHIP:
Reports to and works under the direction and supervision of the Social Services Executive Administrator.
PURPOSE & SCOPE OF THE POSITION:
The Social Services Maintenance Lead is responsible for supervising the Maintenance Team who manage the cleaning and general maintenance of the buildings, equipment, grounds and facilities under the umbrella of the Social Services Administration Department.

KEY
DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Technical Functions
- Coordinates the Maintenance Team, plan, supervise, inspect and schedule preventive/predictive maintenance work to ensure reliability of all facility assets (mechanical, grounds, equipment, and vehicles).
- Develop maintenance schedules using work order system, and monitor all information on building assets and vehicles.
- Prepare reports as required to meet proper health and safety measures and occupational health and safety standards;
- Assist with projecting facility needs for capital forecast.
- Vehicle maintenance reports and service records.
- Administrative Functions
- Must take into consideration cost effectiveness of maintaining a schedule of repair.
- Manage daily departmental administrative functions including preparation of work schedules for staff.
- Conduct performance evaluations when required.
- Seek training for maintenance staff as appropriate.
- Maintains documentation according to organization policies and professional standards.
- Assist clients with lawn maintenance needs where identified and approved.
- Prepare information for contracts to be used for the maintenance of equipment, vehicles, refrigeration, grounds maintenance, mechanical, electrical and HVAC in accordance with appropriate warranty. Oversee outside contractors…
