Maintain a school building’s cleanliness and security as a Temporary Custodian in Daajing Giids, primarily serving Sḵ aadgaa Naay Elementary School.
Haida Gwaii School District No. 50 seeks a Temporary Custodian working thirty hours weekly. The assignment continues until the incumbent returns or August 31, 2027, whichever comes first. The position receives direction from the Working Foreman and responds to school staff requests.
Key Responsibilities:
Maintain assigned building cleanliness and security
Support energy conservation throughout the assigned facility
Carry out requests from school staff
Operate and care for janitorial equipment properly
Work independently and cooperate during major tasks
Requirements:
Grade 12 level of education
Janitorial training or experience, or willingness to learn
Familiarity with WHMIS and Work Safe BC safety regulations
Ability to read product instructions and safety warnings
Ability to lift, push, reach, bend, hold, and carry
Bring safe cleaning practices, mechanical aptitude, and respectful communication to school custodial services in Daajing Giids.
