Fish-Processing Plant Labourer

Location: Cap-Pele

Responsibilities   Transport fish and shellfish to the work area.
Weigh fish or shellfish, record the weight, and pack the fish in ice.
Clean machines and the immediate work areas.
Sort fish according to species, weight, and destination.
Operate a forklift.
Scrape scales, cut fish, separate fillets, and remove scrap parts using a knife.
Qualifications

Education:

No degree, certificate or diploma required.
Physical capabilities:
Repetitive tasks, physically demanding activities, standing for extended periods, bending, crouching, kneeling.
Weight handling:
Up to 13.5 kg (30 lbs).
Tools/equipment:
Steel‑toed safety boots and gloves.
Personal suitability:
Efficient interpersonal skills, flexibility, reliability, and team player.
Security and safety:
Bondable.
Employment Terms   Evening shifts with flexible hours.
Morning shifts available.
Day shifts are also an option.
Support for Newcomers and Refugees   Supports social and labour market integration of newcomers and/or refugees.
Facilitates access to community resources, language training and skills training.
Recruits newcomers and/or refugees displaced by conflict or natural disaster (e.g., Ukraine, Afghanistan).
Assists with foreign credential recognition.
No requirement for Canadian work experience.
Work Environment  Work site is noisy, may contain odours, dust, and wet/damp conditions.
