Location: Prince County (Portage)
Electronics Soldering Technician / PCB Assembly Operator
Contract – Slemon Park, Prince Edward Island – $20.00/hr
The Job
The Electronics Soldering Technician / PCB Assembly Operator is responsible for the assembly, inspection, repair, and modification of printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies. The successful candidate performs precision hand soldering of electronic components while ensuring all work meets quality standards and production requirements.
Perform hand soldering of through‑hole and surface‑mount electronic components on PCB assemblies.
Assemble, repair, and modify printed circuit boards according to work instructions and engineering drawings.
Inspect solder joints and completed assemblies to ensure compliance with quality standards.
Identify and correct soldering defects, including cold joints, solder bridges, insufficient solder, and damaged components.
Safely operate soldering irons, hand tools, microscopes, and testing equipment.
Read and interpret assembly drawings, schematics, Bills of Materials (BOMs), and work orders.
Maintain a clean and organized workstation while following ESD (Electrostatic Discharge) control procedures.
Perform rework and repair of defective PCB assemblies as required.
Meet daily production targets while maintaining a high standard of workmanship.
Follow IPC standards, company procedures, and workplace safety requirements.

Temp‑to‑perm opportunity
Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM
Requirements
Minimum 1 year of experience hand soldering electronic components.
Experience with fine‑pitch soldering is strongly preferred.
IPC‑A‑610 and/or J‑STD‑001 certification considered a strong asset.
Knowledge of electronic components and PCB assembly processes.
Familiarity with ESD‑safe handling procedures.
Ability to read and follow technical drawings, diagrams, schematics, and assembly instructions.
Strong attention to detail and troubleshooting skills.
Must be a Canadian Citizen or Permanent Resident.
Reliable transportation and ability to commute to the worksite.
