Summary  This job is responsible for removing foreign material from the finished product and reacting to sudden quality changes, to ensure finished product quality meets the acceptable quality levels required by customers and the division. The individual in this role will be required to fully understand the purpose and operation of the inspection area along with having the ability to make decisions based on sound judgment when a situation dictates.

It is imperative that the Inspector conducts themselves in a manner that ensures alertness and constant awareness of the safe operation of equipment and its surroundings.

Key Responsibilities   Understand all foreign material procedures and identify foreign material; properly inspect the product, remove and appropriately dispose of any foreign material or product that does not meet the customer’s expectations, and communicate such situations to appropriate personnel.
Maintain clean and orderly work area by sweeping and disposing of non‑hazardous product as necessary.
Sanitize PPE used for inspecting the product and follow the Personal Health, Hygiene and Sanitation Policies and Procedures outlined in the JR Simplot Plant Policies and Procedures.
Attendance and participation in training activities appropriate for the position, ensuring acquired skills and knowledge are applied.
Follow safe work practices, procedures (including Standard Operating Procedures), and policies to ensure no injury to self or others.
Comply with Company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, and the Union Labor Agreement.
Interact with team members and other support groups in a participative management style conducive to operational goals.
Conduct oneself professionally, maintaining confidentiality regarding sensitive issues and ensuring appearance meets the standards necessary to perform the job function while representing the company.

Must be able to work in extreme environments: hot or cold temperatures and wet and slick floors.
Must be able to lift up to 10lbs in a safe and proper manner.
Must be able to maneuver in close quarters and climb stairs and ladders.
