The Seed Technician supports Agronomic Research Specialists by assisting with the sorting, cleaning, packaging, and shipping of canola harvest samples. The role also involves hand-harvesting canola and soybean plots for testing, seed purification, and new variety development.

Job Description

Sort incoming canola seed sample shipments

Clean canola samples in preparation for laboratory testing

Package and ship canola samples

Hand-harvest canola and soybean plots

Operate small stationary threshing equipment

Clean, sort, treat, and package harvested seed

Prepare shipments of packaged seed

Assist with end-of-season cleanup and inventory

Perform outdoor field activities, including hand-harvesting soybean plots and operating small stationary threshing equipment

Skills Required

Ability to perform detailed sorting and cleaning tasks

Ability to operate small stationary equipment

Ability to work effectively as part of a team

Physical ability to perform repetitive and manual tasks

Education/Training/Certifications

High School Diploma or GED

Additional Requirements

Must pass a drug screening

Shift Start Time: 08:000 AM

Ability to work outdoors for extended periods of time

Willingness to perform physically demanding field and processing activities
