Position: CA Refiner Op 12-hour continental shift
Location: CampbellfordJob Purpose:
The Refiner Operator is responsible for maintaining the highest quality standards while refining paste batches into liquid chocolate or compound.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Input required documentation of product specifications and quality into the systemAdjust machines as needed to minimize inaccuracies, defects, or wasteDeliver regular sample tests to laboratory to confirm accurate recipe specifications, measuring items such as fineness, color and consistencyReport any defective materials, missing or damaged tools to the SupervisorMaintain work area and equipment in a clean and orderly conditionEnsure critical control point compliance documenting - Canadian Food Inspection Agency (CFIA), US Food and Drug Administration (FDA), Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point (HACCP) results, magnet cleaning, downtime, waste generation; report any non-conformitiesRotate into other production areas and perform additional duties where resources may be neededCollaborate with co-workers on the plant floor throughout production cyclePick up other tasks that may be needed during downtime (maintaining clean work areas, etc.)Operate within the Blommer core values of respect and care for othersNote:

Physical Requirements:
Able to remain in a stationary position (sitting or standing) for prolonged periods of timeAble to set up, adjust and operate machineryAble to observe and detect issues with product color and finenessRegularly required to bend, stoop, and reachOccasionally ascend/descend stairsOccasionally move materials weighing up to 50 poundsConstantly operate within a manufacturing product environment- daily exposure to noise, dust and variation in temperature (hot/cold)Safety, Quality and Hygiene Requirements:
Operate with a focus on safety and quality, while maintaining a sanitary work environmentComply with Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA), Lockout/Tagout requirements for hazardous energy sourcesAdhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) to ensure that products are consistently produced and controlled according to quality standardsAdhere to CFIA & FDA HACCP guidelinesAdhere to Allergen Management best practices for food manufacturersComply with workplace uniform requirements and safety gearMaintain compliance with all company policies, procedures and code of conductSkills and Work Experience Requirements:
Able to follow clear instructionsAble to read and write English to perform tasks successfullySkilled in applying mathematical reasoning to the measurements of ingredients for production purposesBasic technology skills to record data into computer or electronic tabletContinuous attention to details in performing all tasksComfortable working as an individual contributor as well as with a team, as requiredExpected to identify, communicate/escalate and problem-solve as issues arise* This is a 12- hour position that rotates on a Continental rotation.
