As a Red Seal Machinist
, you will be responsible for producing high-quality precision parts using conventional machines to support our wood processing operations. You will work closely with our maintenance and engineering teams to ensure optimal equipment performance.

Key Responsibilities

Set up and operate a variety of machine tools (lathes, milling machines, saws, grinders, and drills) to manufacture or modify precision components.

Read and interpret complex engineering drawings, blueprints, and tables to plan machining sequences.

Verify dimensions using precision instruments like micrometers, calipers, and gauges to ensure parts meet tight tolerances.

Program and adjust equipment as required for specific production runs.

Perform routine preventative maintenance on shop equipment and adhere to all Marwood safety standards.

Qualifications

Valid Red Seal Machinist (Journeyperson) certification is required.

3–5 years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment (sawmill experience is a significant asset).

Strong proficiency with manual machines; advanced math skills (geometry/algebra) for material fabrication.

Must have own reliable transportation to Tracyville (not bus accessible) and provide own CSA-approved safety footwear.
