KSR has an immediate opening for a   Manufacturing Engineer (Injection Molding SME)   Headquarters, Ridgetown   KSR International is seeking a Manufacturing Engineer (Injection Molding SME) professional to join our Advanced Manufacturing team. This is a full-time, onsite position based at KSR's Global Headquarters in Ridgetown, Ontario.
The Manufacturing Engineer (Injection Molding SME) serves as the subject matter expert for injection molding processes. The role is responsible for process development, optimization, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement, while supporting new product launches, equipment and tooling validation, quality and productivity improvements, cycle time reduction, scrap reduction, and capacity enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications    5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
Extensive experience with plastic injection molding process development, optimization, and validation.
Experience establishing and optimizing molding parameters to improve quality, productivity, and process performance.
Experience leading mold trials, product launches, continuous improvement initiatives, and resolving molding defects, process variation, and production challenges.

Job Responsibilities    Develop, implement, and optimize injection molding processes for new and existing products.
Design and improve molding process workflows, tooling requirements, fixtures, and manufacturing methods.
Establish and maintain molding process parameters, cycle times, and production standards.
Develop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, process setup sheets, and standard operating procedures.
Support global standardization of injection molding processes and best practices across facilities.
Develop specifications for injection molding machines, molds, auxiliary equipment, tooling, and automation systems.
Support capital expenditure planning and budget development.
Coordinate equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, validation, and startup activities.
Monitor project timelines, costs, and deliverables.
Participate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activities.
Develop injection molding processes and equipment requirements for new product launches.
Support Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) development and updates.
Coordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP) activities.
Support engineering changes, product design modifications, mold transfers, and manufacturability reviews.
Automation and Technology    Identify and evaluate opportunities for automation and advanced manufacturing technologies within injection molding operations.
Support robotics, automated part handling, resin delivery systems, vision systems, and secondary automation applications.
Participate in equipment design reviews, factory acceptance testing (FAT), and site acceptance testing (SAT).
Collaborate with equipment suppliers, mold makers, automation integrators, and technical partners on implementation and improvement projects.
Continuous Improvement    Lead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiatives within injection molding operations.
Improve Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), machine utilization, and manufacturing performance metrics.
Drive scrap, rework, downtime, and cycle time reduction projects.
Troubleshoot molding defects and improve process capability, product quality, and manufacturing stability.
Support operations, maintenance, and quality teams in resolving production challenges through root cause analysis and corrective actions.
Health, Safety & Wellness    Prioritize safety and comply with the Health and Safety Management System.
Support risk reduction, hazard identification, and continuous improvement efforts.
Ensure compliance with health, safety, and wellness legislation and KSR standards.
Uphold and adhere to the KSR Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.
Environmental    Promote the global Environmental Management System with a focus on footprint reduction, recycling, and resource efficiency.
Ensure compliance with environmental legislation and KSR standards.
