Job Responsibilities:Responsible for supervision of all direct and indirect hourly employees.Manage all phases of manufacturing operations (Planning, Manufacturing, Maintenance, shipping and receiving).Coordinate manufacturing activities with supply chain, customer service and quality.Responsible for ensuring that all employees are educated on company practices, procedure and policies and the importance of safety in the workplace.Works in alignment with all departments to monitor the company’s organizational processes, introduce improvements and implement strategies to ensure efficiency, productivity, and profitability within the manufacturing operation.Reports to: Canadian Operations Director

Tasks & Responsibilities:
Provide leadership and motivation to ensure the successful day-to-day operations of the hourly plant employees and employee satisfaction.Work closely with quality personnel to review product consistency and quality while monitoring scrap rates and determine trends and areas of improvement.Review established production schedules for all manufacturing departments to ensure established inventory levels are met while operating at the highest efficiency possible.In collaboration with the Supply Chain Manager, coordinate cycle counts activities and control the inventory level and precision.Coordinate the hiring, required and special training of all hourly plant personnel.Maintain the 5S program.Lead Kaizen events as required.Help establish production techniques, tooling requirements, floor plans and ensure we use Lean principles when initiating new programs.Create training materials for new programs.Deliver Lean, Safety and Product training.Maintain MSDS binder, ensure MSDS’s are current.Monitor operation expenses and research ways to reduce costs while maintaining product quality.Work closely with the Health and Safety team to ensure all members of the manufacturing team are aware of safety policies to provide a safe workplace for our employees.Maintain and support a superior safety and housekeeping program, including all timely communication initiatives.Document SOP’s, procedures and develop cross-training plan.Analyze hourly workforce requirements.Conduct performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all hourly plant employees.Encourage and promote operating in a continuous improvement environment.Remove production constraints; review and allocate human and equipment resources and direct hourly plant employees to ensure company objectives and established goals are met.Remove waste and constraints from the production process to improve efficiencies and enhance productivity.Have the ability and skills to work with the Canada-wide network of PLP in an organized team effort for the betterment of the Canadian team, and corporation as a group.Job Requirements:- Excellent interpersonal communication, collaborative and team skills.

Experience / Education / Skillset:
5+ years progressive experience in a key leadership/management role at a manufacturing facility.Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering, industrial engineering or operations managementPrevious experience/strong understanding of budgeting/expense management with a basic understanding of financial and accounting practices.Strong computer skills including the ability to prepare spreadsheets and use Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Power Point) to analyze data and trends.Previous experience/best practices implementing and using continuous improvement/lean tools such as
