Position: Locum Midwives Needed in Nunavik
Location: Nunavik (Kuujjuaq)

Support Inuit women’s maternity care as a locum midwife in Puvirnituq, Salluit, and Inukjuak from July to September. Contribute to midwifery education while gaining valuable experience in northern settings.

We're urgently seeking skilled midwives for short-term assignments during the summer and winter holiday coverage.

Your role will involve assisting with daily maternity operations, collaborating with local healthcare staff, and guiding the development of midwifery education programs. This position is vital for supporting both local and southern midwifery personnel.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist in maternity ward operations, including labour and delivery

• Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and community workers

• Mentor students in midwifery education initiatives

• Evaluate and enhance midwifery program effectiveness

Requirements:

• Authorization to work in Canada (citizenship, PR, valid work permit)

• Current Obstetric Emergency Skills certification

• Clinical midwifery experience (1 year preferred)

• Fluency in English;
French is an asset

• Teaching skills and ability to work independently
