Overview
Position Summary — Do you have a passion for nursing? We have the position for you. We are seeking a motivated Registered Nurse (RN) with a dedication for delivering compassionate patient care to join our team in Primary Care. The RN works in accordance with the mission, vision, values and strategic priorities of Northern Health and adheres to the standards of professional practice and the BCCNM code of ethics, in a patient- and family-centered care model.
The RN practices in a variety of clinical settings and is responsible for the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of client care. Working in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, the RN ensures client-centered care by assisting clients and their families respond to changing health care needs. The RN bases practice on nursing science and related content from other sciences and humanities.
Rural community hospitals may require competence in multiple clinical settings.
Responsibilities
Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate client care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team.
Provide client-centered care and support to clients and their families, in response to changing health care needs.
Demonstrate a specialized body of knowledge and apply nursing science and related disciplines to practice.
Work in one or more clinical settings as required by location and scope of practice.
Shift and Work Environment
Shift Rotation/Hours of work: Days, 08:15 to 16:45 (Rotating)

Qualifications
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
Advanced preparation in the clinical specialty of the assigned area as required by the position.
Emergency:
Advanced preparation in an ED clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience. CPR within three years.
Perinatal:
Advanced preparation in a Perinatal clinical specialty or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Current Fetal Health Surveillance (FHS) and Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) within 2 years. CPR within three years.
Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to complete initial and ongoing client assessments and provide nursing care with appropriate interventions.
Effective communication with clients, families, the public, medical staff, and the interdisciplinary team using verbal, written and computer means.
