RN- Oncology

Location: Smithers

Overview  Join Our Healthcare Team in Smithers, BC. Our client is seeking a dedicated Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology to support safe and high‑quality systemic therapy care for patients in Smithers. This role requires strong clinical expertise, commitment to patient‑centered care, and the ability to work effectively in a specialized oncology environment.
This position requires BCCA Systemic Therapy Certification, and the candidate must be certified to administer chemotherapy in Northern Health.
Pay Rate:  $52-60 CAD/hr
Responsibilities   Provide safe and competent oncology nursing care in alignment with established clinical guidelines and systemic therapy protocols.
Administer chemotherapy and other systemic therapies once certified through BCCA.
Monitor, assess, and document patient status throughout treatment, ensuring comfort, safety, and confidentiality.
Collaborate with oncologists, pharmacists, and interdisciplinary teams to support coordinated patient care.
Maintain accurate charting and clinical documentation in accordance with hospital and Northern Health standards.
Notes:  Follow all infection control, medication safety, and regulatory requirements related to oncology practice.
Requirements   Registered Nurse (RN) with active license.
BCCA Systemic Therapy Certification (or eligible and required to complete certification before administering chemo).
Experience in Oncology or Systemic Therapy settings preferred.
Strong clinical judgment, communication skills, and ability to work in a specialized care environment.
