About this role :
As a Clinical Manager with Fresenius Medical Care, you will ensure quality patient care while maintaining daily facility operations. You will lead a collaborative team delivering unique care plans for patients with end‑stage renal disease or chronic kidney disease.
Training and Advancement :
You will enter our Clinical Leadership Program that supports continuous learning. The curriculum covers onboarding, essential functions, leadership, and advanced leadership. Successful managers may advance to Area Team Lead or Director of Operations.
Purpose and Scope
Manage and oversee daily operations, ensuring cost‑effective functions in compliance with legal, regulatory, and company requirements. Collaborate with the Medical Director, Clinical Manager/Charge Nurse, and other departments to provide quality care from admission to discharge. Market services to physicians and dialysis facilities.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
Clinic Operations
Provide leadership, coaching, and development plans for all direct reports.
Partner with Human Resources, Quality, Education, and Technical Services departments.
Coordinate the Home Therapies Program.
Maintain medical and operational records, ensuring compliance with data collection and auditing activities.
Complete ICD coding and network reporting, and prepare for state or federal surveys.
Execute short‑ and long‑term objectives, managing staffing, costs, and methods.
Administer daily business operations, including staffing, patient care quality, physical plant; control inventory.
Manage profit and loss, achieving budget and key performance indicators.
Patient Care
Coordinate all aspects of patient care from admission through discharge.
Serve as resource for patients and families, addressing concerns and questions.
Oversee timely completion of patient assessments and care plans.
Schedule patient treatments to ensure efficiency and develop action plans for missed treatments.
Report changes in patient status related to clinical, insurance, or transportation issues.
Staff
Participate in hiring new team members and oversee orientation and mandatory training.
Ensure all patient‑care employees complete required training and maintain current licensure/certification.
Support clinical staff regularly and encourage professional growth.
Maintain knowledge of company benefits, policies, procedures, and processes.
Collect clinical feedback for employee evaluations, establish annual goals, and conduct performance reviews.
Document disciplinary actions and coordinate with Human Resources and Director of Operations when necessary.
Schedule staff and manage payroll.
Physicians
Facilitate the application and compliance process for physician privileges.
Maintain strong relationships and regular communication with physicians.
Participate in the regional governing body of physicians.
Other Responsibilities
Collaborate with the Clinical Manager/Charge RN, Medical Director, and physicians to ensure quality patient care.
Address patient concerns and review satisfaction surveys.
Implement and maintain Continuous Quality Improvement (CQI) and Quality Assessment and Improvement Program (QAPI).
Conduct regular monitoring of compliance with federal and state laws.
Support and drive quality standards, including CQI and FMS quality tools.
Monitor training compliance and injury management.
Manage inventory, scheduling, and maintenance of equipment.
Coordinate payroll, vendor contracts, and billing activities.
Participate in on‑site internal and external surveys.
Perform related duties as assigned.
Supervision
Supervise Charge RN and DPC Staff.
Physical Demands and Working Conditions
Desk and computer work; interaction with patients, staff, and physicians.
Work in a regulated healthcare environment with controlled temperature and moderate noise.
Frequent standing and ability to bend over.
Occasional assistance to move patients and equipment up to 200 lbs with two‑person assist program.
Travel to regional, Business Unit, and Corporate meetings may be required.
Education
Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing (RN).
Current RN state licensure.
