- Practice autonomously to diagnose, order, and interpret diagnostic tests, prescribe pharmaceuticals, and perform procedures within the legislated scope of practice.
- Provide direct patient care and partner with other members of the health care team.
- Collaborate closely with physicians and interdisciplinary teams.
- Adhere to the Nova Scotia College of Nursing (NSCN) Standards for Nursing Practice and the Code of Ethics.
- Maintain accountability for own practice consistent with relevant legislation, professional, and ethical standards.
- Identify, analyze, and evaluate activities for quality improvement initiatives.
- Work autonomously and collaborate as appropriate with professionals and teams in mutual support.
- Graduate Nurse Practitioner or one who will be completing studies within the next 12 months.
- Accredited nursing education and registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nursing.
- Ability to work independently and as part of an interdisciplinary team.
- Strong clinical assessment and decision-making skills.
- Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.
- Successful candidates may be eligible for a $5,000 – $10,000 signing bonus.
- Up to $15,000 for rural placements with a defined Return of Service contract.
Hourly pay: $59.47 – $69.52, increasing to $71.96 with 25 years' experience.
