Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) – Queens General Hospital
Location:
Queens General Hospital, Liverpool, Nova Scotia
Shifts:
12-hour shifts
Contract Duration: 8 weeks (with potential for extension)
Pay Rate: $95–$100 per hour
Position Overview
Tahir Medix Staffing is seeking an experienced Emergency Room Registered Nurse (RN) to provide high-quality patient care at Queens General Hospital’s Emergency Department . This is an excellent opportunity for RNs with emergency experience looking for a rewarding travel assignment in a rural healthcare setting .
Hospital Overview
Queens General Hospital is a rural hospital with a 12-care space emergency department .
Provides care to patients of all ages , ranging from minor injuries to critical medical emergencies.
Core staffing per shift: Three RNs and one LPN.
Day shifts include a CCA to assist with the care of admitted patients awaiting transfer to the medical unit.
Key Responsibilities
Provide comprehensive emergency nursing care , including assessment, triage, and stabilization of patients with a variety of medical conditions.
Coordinate and direct overall nursing care in complex or unpredictable patient situations.
Perform point-of-care lab testing as required.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to achieve optimal patient outcomes .
Administer medications and interventions as per unit and NSHA guidelines.
Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and in a timely manner.
Specialty RN Overview
May be assigned to care for patients requiring more complex and specialized care .
Responsible for the overall coordination and direction of nursing care within the emergency unit.
Provides clinical leadership , particularly in high-acuity or unpredictable care settings.
Utilizes knowledge, skill, and judgment to deliver evidence-based nursing practice .
Qualifications
Active RN License in Nova Scotia
Minimum one year of recent experience in an emergency department
Mandatory certifications: BLS, ACLS, CTAS
Preferred certifications: TNCC, ENPC, PALS, NRP
Point-of-care lab testing experience is an asset
Strong clinical judgment and ability to work effectively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments
Ability to lead and collaborate within a multidisciplinary care team
