Registered Practical Nurse in Forensic Psychiatry

Location: South Leeds and Grenville United Counties (Prescott)

Join The Royal as a Registered Practical Nurse focused on forensic psychiatry in Brockville. This part-time position offers the chance to make a significant impact on patient recovery through specialized care.

You will be a crucial part of the Forensic Treatment Unit, working with patients involved in the criminal justice system. The role requires technical nursing skills, CPR certification, and a commitment to professional development. Experience in psychiatric nursing is preferred to ensure effective treatment and support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assess and treat forensic patients in a clinical setting

• Operate as part of an inter-disciplinary care team

• Conduct vital signs monitoring and medication administration

• Build therapeutic connections with patients

• Ensure compliance with health care standards and regulations

Requirements:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Graduate from a recognized Practical Nursing program

• CPR certification and knowledge of mental health legislation

• Two years of psychiatric/mental health nursing experience preferred

• Basic computer literacy is required
