As a Mental Health and Addictions Nurse at Wikwemikong Health Centre, bring your skills in compassionate care and trauma-informed practices to improve patient outcomes. This is a pivotal role in mental health support.

The NAANDWECHIGE-GAMIG Wikwemikong Health Centre is looking for a dynamic nurse who can assess, plan, and implement care for those with mental health and addiction challenges. Your experience in inpatient psychiatry or community mental health will be crucial in this role, as you collaborate with diverse health professionals to coordinate comprehensive care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct and analyze mental health assessments

• Implement individualized nursing care plans effectively

• Monitor and administer psychotropic medications

• Perform crisis interventions and risk assessments

• Educate patients and families on mental health issues

Requirements:

• BScN graduate, registered as RN with the CNO

• Two years’ experience in mental health nursing

• Competence in crisis management preferred

• Strong communication and judgment skills

• Experience working with First Nations is an asset
