Public Health Nurse

Position: Public Health Nurse at NWHU
Location: Northwestern Ontario (Red Lake)

Advance community health as a Public Health Nurse with Northwestern Health Unit. Join a dynamic team focused on vaccine-preventable diseases and public health programs, benefiting from health perks and vacation offerings.

This role involves supporting the Vaccine Preventable Disease team and various public health initiatives. You will collaborate with community partners to plan, implement, and evaluate impactful health programs. Independence and teamwork are essential, along with a strong foundation in nursing practices.

Key Responsibilities:

• Support community vaccination and health promotion initiatives

• Collaborate with local organizations for effective program implementation

• Evaluate public health programs to enhance community health

• Work independently and as part of interdisciplinary teams

• Travel within the region as needed for community outreach

Requirements:

• Current registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario

• Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing (BScN)

• CPR certification needed

• Knowledge of population health principles an asset

• Effective communication and team collaboration skills
