Registered Practical Nurse Long Term Care

Location: Whitby Region (Gormley)

Registered Practical Nurse needed for long-term care nursing at Lakeridge Health Ajax, with medication administration and resident care across rotating shifts.
This temporary part-time position supports the LG LTC 5E Residential program at Lakeridge Health Ajax. The Registered Practical Nurse assesses, plans, implements, and evaluates resident care. Core work includes care coordination, communication, medication administration, and resident teaching within a multidisciplinary team.

Key Responsibilities:

Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate high-quality resident nursing care
Maintain resident care plans with multidisciplinary team members
Communicate with relatives about residents’ care and condition
Administer medications, injections, and narcotics safely
Participate in discharge planning, transfers, and resident teaching
Requirements:
Current Ontario Registered Practical Nurse registration in good standing
Geriatric or long-term care experience preferred
Strong communication, critical thinking, and care coordination skills
Physical ability to perform essential job duties
Satisfactory vulnerable sector criminal reference check required
