Overview Now hiring! Ready to lead the pack? Camp Grossman is looking for a Mountain Biking Specialist to take our adventure program off-road. If you love the outdoors, the sound of a clicking gear, and the thrill of helping a child conquer their first trail, we want you in the saddle! This full-time, on-site summer role is perfect for a high-energy, outdoorsy individual who is passionate about cycling and youth development.
As our Mountain Biking Specialist, you’ll turn our wooded trails in Dover into a classroom for skill-building, safety, and summer joy. Responsibilities Plan and lead engaging, age-appropriate mountain biking sessions. You’ll teach everything from basic balance and braking for beginners to trail navigation and technical skills for older campers.
Keep the bike shop running smoothly. You’ll be responsible for basic repairs, tire pressure checks, and ensuring every helmet and bike is safe and ready for the trail.
Lead riders along miles of trails with a constant eye on safety, ensuring all campers follow trail etiquette and stay within their skill limits.
Organize, manage and maintain all equipment and supplies, regularly monitoring to ensure proper working order and safety.
Coordinate with the Program Director to order and restock supplies during summer operations, and complete end-of-season inventories for off-season ordering.
Join all staff in the parking lot in the morning and afternoon to welcome the safe arrival and departure of campers.
Role may also include planning and leading an activity, or helping with a cookout, one or two evenings (after regular camp hours) throughout the summer.

Actively participate as an essential team member and attend all staff meetings during or after camp as required.
Support JCC Greater Boston’s mission, vision, and values of belonging, joyfulness, collaboration, and transformation, including through role modeling.

Complete all staff payroll and onboarding on time and before Orientation begins.
Complete all pre-camp asynchronous online training modules and attend all pre-camp virtual and in-person orientation sessions.
Other duties as assigned.
Supervisory responsibilities Some specialists may be assigned an assistant (or assistants); supervisory responsibilities include direction, guidance, mentorship, feedback and supervision of assistant(s) as needed.
Create/facilitate an environment where employees can achieve individual goals.
Build and maintain a positive working relationship to achieve desired outcomes and ongoing professional growth of the direct report.
Write and conduct mid-summer and end-of-summer evaluations of assistants, with concrete suggestions for growth and a recommendation for re-hire.
Uphold organizational policies and align work with the mission, vision and strategic objectives; report issues to the Specialist Supervisor or Program Director as needed.
Job details This is an outdoor camp located on beautiful, wooded property in Dover, MA. The regular camp day runs from 8:30 AM – 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, for the camp season. Specialists are expected to attend 4 staff meetings on Monday afternoons and/or evenings.
