Quality Assurance CoordinatorJob DescriptionThe Quality Assurance Coordinator oversees quality audits, project documentation, and on‑site inspections to ensure the Quality Management System (QMS) is developed, implemented, and maintained in line with established standards. This role supports utility and industrial construction projects, including large‑scale renewable and energy storage builds, by verifying that all quality‑related activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and contractual requirements. The coordinator works closely with internal quality control personnel, project teams, contractors, and external stakeholders to review, document, and verify quality performance, while proactively identifying and implementing continuous improvement opportunities.
Responsibilities
Uphold the organization’s commitment to delivering exceptional quality standards across all projects.Foster and sustain a culture of quality by coaching and mentoring employees at every level.Manage, control, and distribute quality documentation efficiently for assigned projects.Collaborate with site staff to monitor all quality‑related activities across multiple projects.Plan, conduct, and document internal and external quality audits as required.Communicate contractor quality requirements to vendors and review contractor documentation submittals for completeness and compliance.Coordinate and oversee quality audits involving site subcontractors and vendors.Oversee and manage inspection test plans (ITPs), ensuring they are implemented and maintained through to closure.Participate in client quality management meetings when necessary, providing updates on quality performance and issues.Prepare, implement, and oversee project quality system documentation prior to project initiation.Review qualifications and training requirements for quality inspection personnel to ensure competency.Monitor, track, and drive resolution of all issues and non‑conformance reports (NCRs).Evaluate the effectiveness of the project Quality Management System (QMS) both onsite and in the office, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.Manage archival and retention of quality documentation upon project completion.Supervise on‑site and off‑site third‑party inspectors, ensuring consistent quality standards.Work with project staff to resolve any instances of nonconforming products or work, including root cause analysis and corrective actions.Assess contractors’ quality assurance and quality control systems to ensure compliance with contractual and project requirements, in collaboration with project supervision.Facilitate contractor quality approvals with project supervision when necessary.Verify that documentation and certificates for materials purchased from vendors are accurate, complete, and compliant with specifications.Liaise with management regarding quality performance, risks, and improvement opportunities.Coordinate and oversee receipt inspections to ensure incoming materials meet project requirements.Distribute relevant quality documentation and requirements to site contractors in a timely manner.Verify that all site quality activities comply with applicable codes, standards, and project specifications.Perform and document first article inspections (FA) and inspection checklists (ICL) in the field.Review and analyze inspection test plans (ITPs), manage them through their lifecycle, and ensure closure of all inspection points.Identify, document, and close non‑conformance reports (NCRs), including supporting root cause analysis and corrective actions.Prepare and submit quality documentation packages to owners, engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) partners, or third‑party inspectors as required.Interpret and apply company policies and procedures consistently in daily quality activities.Communicate effectively with client representatives and stakeholders, providing clear, professional updates on quality matters.Essential SkillsMinimum 3 years of experience in a quality management or quality assurance role within the construction industry.Electrical experience in construction or industrial…
