Duties & Responsibilities

Lead the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of environmental and health and safety programs, policies, and procedures.

Monitor and ensure compliance with applicable federal, provincial, and local environmental and OHS regulations.

Oversee the OHS department and act as the primary advisor to management and staff on all related matters.

Plan and conduct environmental audits and inspections to evaluate the effectiveness of existing programs.

Lead investigations of environmental and workplace incidents; prepare reports and ensure timely follow-up on corrective actions.

Collaborate with operational leaders to conduct risk assessments, job hazard analyses, and site inspections.

Provide training and coaching to employees and leaders on safety standards, environmental procedures, and regulatory requirements.

Manage workplace injury and illness claims (WCB/WSIB/STD/LTD) and support return-to-work and disability management processes.

Prepare and submit regulatory reports as required by government agencies.

Act as a key point of contact for environmental consultants, government inspectors, and other stakeholders.
