Postdoctoral Research Associate in Biocatalysis

Location: Manchester

Engage in innovative research with a Postdoctoral Research Associate role at the Manchester Institute of Biotechnology. Focus on biocatalysis and collaborate with top academic and industrial partners.

We seek a collaborative individual for a 24-month position starting January 1, 2027. The successful candidate will contribute to the project “Unlocking Nucleoside and Glycoconjugate Chemical Biology using Biocatalysis” led by Professor Gavin Miller. This role focuses on biocatalysis and chemical biology, requiring expertise in molecular synthesis and a solid research background.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design and perform high-quality biocatalysis research

• Develop experimental protocols for carbohydrate and nucleoside conjugates

• Manage research projects and meet deadlines

• Disseminate findings through publications and presentations

• Collaborate with diverse research partners and train team members

Requirements:

• PhD in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or related field

• Proven research track record in biocatalysis

• Experience in molecular synthesis and characterization

• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal

• Ability to work independently and in teams
