Archaeological Field Technician

Position: Archaeological Field Technician at ERM
Location: Northern British Columbia (Fort Nelson)

ERM is seeking a Field Technician in Whitehorse/Mayo, YT, to support archaeological field surveys and cultural heritage initiatives. Contribute to valuable data collection in diverse field settings.

This position involves working in a dynamic team dedicated to completing archaeological surveys and performing shovel testing in areas with high archaeological potential. Candidates should be ready for shift work that may involve traveling to remote locations and staying in camp. Your skills in outdoor navigation and data collection will be vital.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct archaeological surveys and shovel tests

• Assist in data collection with an ERM Archaeologist

• Collaborate in achieving safety and production objectives

• Navigate variable terrain and weather conditions

• Stay on-site for shift work durations

Requirements:

• Preferred degree in Anthropology or Archaeology

• 0-3 years of relevant archaeological experience

• Candidates with field school backgrounds encouraged to apply

• Ability to work outdoors under varying conditions

• Flexibility for 2 weeks on, 2 weeks off rotations
