The Opportunity
The Biostatistics Unit in the School of Public Health and Preventive Medicine (SPHPM) is looking for either a Level B Research Fellow or a Level C Senior Research Fellow to join the team.
A Level B academic focuses on conducting independent or collaborative research to develop their expertise, whereas a Level C academic is expected to make original contributions, drive major research initiatives, and provide leadership within their field or organisational unit.
The position will contribute to the development of statistical methodology for Bayesian adaptive cluster randomised trials (CRTs), including adaptive platform trials (APTs). In particular, the development of modular software code (written in R) to enable simulation of these designs will be a key focus. The position will include collaborations both within Monash University and with external partners, including statisticians, clinical trialists, and clinicians.
The ideal candidate will have a PhD in biostatistics, statistics, or a closely related discipline and will be progressing a career as a biostatistical methodologist, working on statistical problems arising from collaborative research endeavours, ideally in the area of clinical/public health. The candidate will have a strong mathematical background, expertise in Bayesian statistics, excellent programming skills (, R), and ideally experience in clinical trials.
