What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Division Manager, Food & Liquor, the Food Store Manager is responsible for coordinating and directing all aspects of store operations including grocery, produce, meat, bakery and deli, while maintaining a profitable department, high quality products and superb customer service levels.You will be responsible for the engagement of, effectively communicating with, and managing, your team including but not limited to; scheduling, approving payroll, hiring, onboarding, performance management, training, and development with an emphasis on safety.
Your passion for, and knowledge in, the food and grocery industry keeps you current on all new products, market demands, specialty items, pricing and marketing strategies and you take initiative to be actively involved in marketing efforts.
You will be responsible for budgeting, tracking inventory, managing expenses, monitoring productivity, and administering the talent management program.

Who you are: You are looking for a career in retail management, are a strong people leader who thrives in a fast-paced retail environment, is passionate about food retail, and understands how to balance customer service, team engagement, and financial results.
You have a grade 12 education with a minimum of 2 years supervisory experience in leading a team and a minimum of 2 years management experience. A combination of relevant education and experience may be considered.
You have a demonstrated ability to lead a team through effective feedback and coaching practices
You have solid judgment and decision-making abilities while communicating with customers and team members.
You have excellent organizational, interpersonal, and analytical skills
Proficiency with Microsoft Office and retail management systems.
You have a flexible schedule and are willing to work, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
You are honest, trustworthy, results-oriented and strive to be the best in what you do.
