General Merchandise Manager

Location: North Interlake (Stonewall)

Overview   Engages with team members to ensure onboarding, training, development, coaching and feedback to support success in all they do.
Identifies talent and engages in career discussions to support store staffing and a diversified talent pipeline for team members and leadership roles.
Facilitates candid discussions to uphold Meijer standards and support growth within the organization.
Oversees area operations and financial results by executing corporate plans to maximize sales and productivity and owning budget line items in the P&L.
Drives safety and compliance, manages store condition, and ensures adherence to all store procedures.
Ensures Team Leaders and Leads provide guidance and assign daily work and training needs for team members.
Requirements   Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
Minimum 4+ years of retail/grocery or customer service experience.
Progressive leadership experience preferred.
A passion to provide industry leading service.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with team members to provide clear and precise direction.
Demonstrated ability to analyze financial and statistical information and use it to make informed decisions.
Demonstrated ability to lead an organization that practices working safely at all times.
Demonstrates proactive/creative thinking and applies it to the business.
A thorough understanding of seasonal and diverse merchandising to meet customer/community needs and gain sales and market share.
A strong business acumen.
