Position: Bakery Clerk (Permanent)

As a Bakery Clerk at Ucluelet Co-op, you will play a vital role in delivering personalized service to our valued members. We prioritize establishing strong relationships with our members and fostering an environment that encourages their continued patronage. We are seeking a positive, dependable individual with a professional approach and a commitment to exceptional customer service.

Duties & Responsibilities:

Provide excellent customer service by greeting customers, assisting with product inquiries, and ensuring a positive shopping experience.

Frost and decorate cakes or other baked goods

Maintain and display all types of bakery products according to standards

Properly maintain and clean equipment regularly.

Be familiar with and adhere to all sanitation and personal hygiene policies of the Co-op and government regulations.

Advise the manager when orders for replenishment of inventory are required and ensure proper mark-down reports

Perform receiving duties when required

Come to work with a positive, professional approach and attitude

Be dependable on all scheduled shifts

Provide outstanding courteous customer service

Be familiar with and adhere to all Ucluelet Co-op policies and procedures

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Previous food preparation/ bakery experiences an asset

Previous experience in a customer service role preferred

Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work effectively in a team environment

Attention to detail and accuracy

Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings and weekends

Working Conditions:

Flexibility in scheduling, including days, evenings, weekends, and holidays

Ability to stand and walk for extended periods (up to 8 hours)

Physically demanding tasks including lifting and carrying up to 50 lbs, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and occasional stair climbing
