Location: Gold River

Adecco is actively seeking a dedicated Fisheries Biologist to join our clients team for a full-time position in Gold River, BC, offering a competitive salary of $85k-$95k Per Annum. Reporting to the Land and Resource Manager, this role focuses on providing fisheries technical assistance primarily to First Nation(s) in the Northern Region, facilitating economic and food harvest opportunities, stock assessment, habitat protection and restoration, negotiation support, and environmental impact research.

  • Pay Rate: $85k-$95k/year .

  • Job type: Permanent | Full-time
    • Responsibilities:
  • Provide technical assistance to First Nation(s) for fisheries management.
  • Support capacity building initiatives and develop funding proposals for fisheries projects.
  • Implement habitat restoration and protection projects.
  • Incorporate traditional ecological knowledge into aquatic management processes.
  • Liaise with stakeholders including Council, staff, fishers, and government bodies.
    • Requirements:
  • Legal eligibility to work and reside in Canada.
  • Bachelor of Science in Biology or Resource Management.
  • Minimum three years of experience in fisheries resource management.
  • Experience working with First Nations governments.
  • Strong negotiation, problem-solving, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Understanding of First Nation culture, traditions, and aspirations.
  • Proficiency in MS Office, Adobe, and advanced computer skills.
  • Valid BC Driver's license, vehicle required, willingness to travel as needed.
  • Maintain adherence to legal and ethical standards, including acceptable criminal record check.
