Emergency Department Tactical Security Officer

Location: Hants County (Shubenacadie)

This position entails monitoring the Emergency Department, assisting clinical staff with challenging patients, and responding to emergency codes. You will focus on confidentiality and professional interactions while managing security incidents. Collaborate with law enforcement and hospital staff to develop security strategies for high-risk patients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Oversee security presence within the Emergency Department

• Conduct rounds in waiting rooms and ED areas

• Support staff with patient restraints as directed

• Ensure compliance with hospital policies and procedures

• Communicate any suspicious activities to dispatch

Requirements:

• 1-2 years security experience is required

• Capable of obtaining Security License for Nova Scotia

• Valid Intermediate First Aid and CPR - Level C certification

• Must provide Use of Force and MOAB certifications

• High school diploma or GED equivalent necessary
